Restroom Re-Do Update
Over $180,000 raised. Goal in sight!
Lakeport, CA, May 14, 2018 -- The Soper Reese Theatre has been busy this year with concerts, plays, dances, classic movies, GenX movies, workshops and more. Our generous community continued its support of the ongoing “Restroom Re-Do” campaign to build modern and spacious restrooms for our patrons and ADA-compatible access to the theatre. Someday, ladies – no more waiting in line!
Our Fund the Facelift campaign raised approximately $17,000. A generous donation brought in $100,000 from a longtime supporter. The current Restroom Re-Do campaign has garnered a total of $63,890 including contributions to Giving Tuesday in November and the Pianists Benefit Concert in March. We are now at a grand total of $180,890. Many thanks to everyone who has helped to achieve this goal. Over the 15 years we’ve been fundraising for the theatre, donations have come from more than 500 individuals and families, 25 local organizations and over 65 local businesses.
As a reminder: we only begin a renovation project when we have all the funds in hand. Soper Reese Theatre executive director, Michael Adams, has calculated that once we meet our $300,000 goal, we will be able to begin breaking ground, framing, roofing and starting on interior remodeling.
We have $120,000 more to raise toward our “break ground” goal, and we will keep working to raise the funds necessary to get started on the renovation. Donations are always gladly accepted at www.SoperReeseTheatre.com. Thanks to all and we hope to see you at the theatre soon!
