Driving Miss Daisy

The time: 1948. The place: Atlanta, Georgia.  Daisy Werthan, 72, has crashed her car, and her son, Boolie, insists that she must now have a driver. Hoke Coleburn, a 60 year old black man, is hired and over the next 25 years Hoke and and Daisy gradually form a unique and deep friendship, her in the back seat, he in the front. Playwright Alfred Uhry won a Pulitzer Prize for this touching story of an elderly Southern Jewish woman and her African-American chauffeur. The Lake County Theatre Company presents its own special production of this stimulating and sensitive drama.
